Lily’s 1st day at school…

Lily had her first day at school last week. No uniform, so she chose a pink ensemble – surprise surprise!

Lily’s First Ballet Class…

SAMSUNG

Lily went to her first ballet class with Angelina Ballerina today:

Out of the mouths of children…

Peter: Lily, shall we go to the shop?
Lily: Yes, let’s go to Marks Expensive!

Doctor in the house….

Lily has decided she wants to be a Doctor, so we have fitted her out with a full outfit and Doctor’s kit (and yes I know it’s a nurses outfit):

Hair Raising…

Lily goes to work on a Sunday…

Lily disappeared for a few minutes, Kat found her downstairs, shoes on, keys in hand, ready to go to work/school. Very cute!!

Lily the little baby…

Lily wasn’t feeling too well today so stayed at home from school, well who likes Mondays anyway. She decided that she was going to be a little baby again and make some use of her old moses basket.

What’s in a name…

We are teaching Lily peoples names, which she seems to enjoy, but of course being Lily she decides to rename anything and anyone at will. For example:

Lily Helen Greer – Lily Hello Gorilla

Pepper (our black cat) – Guzik (Teresa’s black cat)

Teresa (Kat’s mum) – Telesa

Auntie Jennifer – Auntie Jenniflower

Lily also likes to talk to Teresa on the phone. So when she finds one of our phones, picks it up and starts to talk to Teresa. We were in the library this morning, Lily snuck behind the counter, picked up the phone and said “Hello Babcia (grandmother)”. It made everyone laugh except for Kat who had to go and collect her!

She has also picked up some naughty words from her mother (!!!) her favourite is Fuck off Peter, downstairs! She’s also quite keen on Come on daddy, fuck off Peter, downstairs! There is obviously something wrong with me as I always laugh at it, and feel wierdly proud of my potty mouthed daughter!

Lily’s Spring Break Photos…

It’s the long Easter weekend in Dublin, which of course means it is currently raining – a lot! So I found a little time on my hands to upload photos from Lily’s Spring Break.

Pictures like these can be found here, for those interested:

Lily learns to drive…

Lily is certainly growing up fast. She had her first driving lesson at the weekend, although it’ll be a while before she can reach the pedals!

Home again…

We are now home from a trip to Paris and seem to have brought the nice weather with us. Loads of photos and videos to upload from a busy week, but here is one of the river Seine and one of Lily @ Disneyland to whet the appetite.

Lily climbs mountains again….

Lily went walking up the side of an Irish mountain (hill) again today….

Zoo Squirrel

We renewed our Zoo membership recently as Lily enjoys going to visit all of the other monkeys!!

We visited a couple of weeks ago when it was cold and wet, so the zoo was pretty empty. Lily did take the opportunity to make a new friend though…

There was also a randy chimp, camera work on this one isn’t the best…

Dublinia…

It is a bank holiday weekend. Decorating was off the agenda as the roof leaked this week in a once in a hundred year storm. No painting until we are sure it won’t leak again.

So, what to do then?? Well after 6 years of living in Dublin, we decided to visit Dublinia. Frankly it wasn’t as much fun as it could have been. It felt a little too much like a visit to a church for one thing, half of the interactive commentaries didn’t work and the man at the till was rude. Or perhaps my standards are too high – more on that another time.

Anyway, photos at the end of Ireland and Lily at 1 year if you are interested. Here is my favourite:

A couple of Lily videos also currently being uploaded to Lily Tube

Videos & your feedback…

I am working on a new video page, instead of hosting videos here, converting the format and coding the html for every video. Instead I am working on a feed from YouTube. Have a look at the link below:

Long time no speak…

I knew I hadn’t posted for a while, but didn’t realise it was so long. Of course Kat also didn’t post, so no updates for a few weeks, sorry!

So what has happened in the past few weeks that we haven’t shared? I left my job and started a new one, yay! Kat started her new job, yes she is no longer scrounging off my paycheck and can now afford to treat me to the finer things in life, like normal wine instead of Tesco’s value wine (only joking!). Lily has started walking and can now get everywhere.

Lily Walking

Lily still manages to pick up every tropical disease going at school and brings them home. Somehow I have no immunity to any of them either and manage to catch them all. I’ve had a sore throat for 3 weeks and little taste. It is weird eating things but not being able to taste them.

In the world there has been a phone “hacking” scandal, but as far as I can tell no one actually did any hacking. Rupert Murdoch died then came back to life and was pied in the face and then his wife came over all Rambo.

In Ireland it has been mostly raining and the Prime Minister decided it was politically expedient to attack the Church for covering up child abuse, which means we won’t be able to go to the Vatican bank with our begging bowl.

News closer to home is that our wedding plans are coming along nicely. Can’t give you any more details than that but in just over 13 months, the handcuffs will go on!

I will leave you with a final picture of Lily at school.

Lily Visits the Outside…

Lily hasn’t been very well for the past few days. We are hoping that this time she will keep her germs to herself and not pass them onto us. We came up with the genius plan of taking her outside, as for once the sun is shining. Yes the sun is shining!! The other part of the cunning plan was that if she was outside, the wind could blow away the germs when she sneezes.

Of course the camera came along too…

Lily Discovers Chips and Mayo…Lots of Mayo!!

Lily has never had chips before and certainly no mayonnaise.  She did however make up for it today!!
